Automate Multi-Colored Product Orders With
Color Wizard

A new 25 character
field has been added to the IN-B Inventory Entry screen that is used to logically group
product lines by color. |

A new type N inventory
item, as a top level grouping of product line parts for sale, is then added by the
user. |
|
The user can then
enter a unique code for this new type N part; then each part in the product line must also
be coded with the identical code. |
|
The SO-A Order Entry
program has been modified so that, when a type N product which carries a code for product
line grouping is entered on the line item screen, the user will be able to enter a
quantity for the overall order, and the line in the sales order is completed for the
quantity, price, discount, and commissions. Price, discount, and commission rates
are inherited from the parent part for each part in the grouping. |

A wizard is then
started for completing the balance of the sales order line items for each product in the
product line. |

The wizard will then:
|
Search the inventory
file for type F parts with the same product line code, |
|
Display a screen with
Part Number, Description, Quantity on Hand, Quantity on Sales Order for all with an
estimated ship date up to, and including the current day, Quantity on Work Orders and a
field to enter the Order Quantity. |
|
The wizard will then
continue finding each additional type F part in the grouping and adding sales order line
item until completed. |
|
Upon completion, any
quantity left on the type N top level grouping part will be set to zero. |
|
The sales Order can
then be further modified or saved in the normal fashion. |
|
|
Message will display
if quantity on top level not equal to total quantity of line items. |
|
The sales order line
will then complete for the item using the quantity entered on the wizard and the price,
discount and commisions from the type N top level grouping part. |
